Jefferson Airplane
Styles: Rock
Catalogue Number: ACMCD4001
Live performances recorded at three concerts at the Winterland in San Francisco on the 10th-12th March 1967, which illustrates beyond a doubt, that The Jefferson Airplane were one of the most innovative poineers of the West Coast psychedelic movement. The recording quality is somewhat variable, but despite that, this is an album that captures the band, warts and all, at a pivotal point in their career, just a few months after Grace Slick had joined the band from The Great Society, bringing "Somebody To Love" (released as a single in early '67) and "White Rabbit" with her. Just three months later the landmark album "Surrealistic Pillow" was released. For fans of the band and the genre, it's an important and enjoyable album. |
