“King of the Slide Guitar”, and Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Elmore James brought something different with him from the Delta: Power. Known for his strident vocals, and his loud, attacking guitar skills, James has had a tremendous influence on rock, R&B, and blues music. Aiming for a sound “louder than God”, James thrilled audiences on both sides of the Atlantic throughout the 1950s until his untimely death in 1963.
