The Flamingos were one of the most polished groups of the 1950s doo-wop boom. Their career, like so many other collectives at the time, was challenged by numerous line up changes, contractual issues and hopping between labels to find commercial successes. With the groups of the time comprising men of military draft age, it was only a matter of time before one or more were called up for service.
